Health is never just about what happens in your body.
It is shaped by the life you are living, the responsibilities you carry, the relationships you are navigating, the work you are building, and the person you are becoming.
Health, Life & What’s Next with Dr. Jennifer Jeanty is a podcast for women who want a more honest and complete conversation about what it means to live well.
Dr. Jennifer Jeanty is a functional medicine physician, entrepreneur, and lifelong student of the connection between health and real life. Each week, she shares thoughtful conversations, personal stories, lessons from building a practice, insights from years of caring for patients, and reflections on the seasons that shape us.
Some episodes will explore fatigue, hormones, metabolism, gut health, and the patterns that influence how women feel.
Others will explore marriage, identity, ambition, emotional health, business, leadership, change, self-trust, reinvention, and the question so many women eventually ask: What comes next?
This is not another podcast built around quick fixes or endless information.
It is a place to step back, understand yourself more deeply, and see how your health, your choices, your relationships, and your future are connected.
Because health matters.
And so does the life you are building around it.
Welcome to Health, Life & What’s Next, where health meets real life.

You can spend hundreds, even thousands, trying to feel better and still be left wondering: What am I actually trying to fix?
Another supplement. Another test. Another diet. Another protocol. Sometimes they help. Sometimes they don’t. But when there’s no clear clinical question behind what you’re doing, it can become very difficult to understand what your body’s response is actually telling you.
In this episode I challenge the “just try something else” approach to health and explains why doing more isn’t always the same as moving forward.
You’ll hear why more testing isn’t automatically better testing, how changing too many things at once can leave you with fewer answers, and the question worth asking before spending another dollar trying to feel better.
If you’re tired of collecting recommendations without understanding what deserves your attention, this conversation is for you.

Welcome to Health, Life and What's Next. with Dr. Jennifer Ginty. This is the podcast where we explore what it really means to live well through honest conversations about health, life, business, and everything in between. Because remember, healing is about more than medicine. I'm so glad you are here. Let's get into today's conversation Yesterday, I taught the Connected Dots masterclass, which was very powerful. The information released was never heard before. Things that I've never talked about before, how I think when a patient is sitting across from me. As I'm sitting here just evaluating, looking, and thinking about all the things that happened yesterday, there's one thought I haven't been able to stop thinking about. A lot of people are spending money trying to feel better before anyone has clearly answered one question, and that is what exactly are we trying to figure out? Think about how often health decisions happen in reverse. Someone feels exhausted, they go buy something for energy. Somebody has digestive issues or changes, so they remove foods, or they go to the GI doctor and get a pill. Sleep changes, they add something for sleep. Labs come back, so another medications or supplement get added. And none of those decision is automatically wrong, but here's the question I want people asking more often. Why this intervention for this person right now? What are we expecting it to change? What will the response teach us? That is such an important distinction. Because when you make health decision without a clear question, you can spend a lot of time, money, and energy doing things without actually learning very much from them. Let me give you an example. Imagine someone starts three medications, six supplements, removes gluten and dairy, starts intermittent fasting, changes her exercise routine, and adds hormone therapy within a few weeks. Three months later, she feels thirty percent better. That sounds like progress, and it is, But now tell me what actually helped. Was it one supplement? Was it the dietary change? Was it the hormone therapy? Was it something she stopped doing? Was it the combination? We don't know. So even though she improved, we may have lots of information in the process, and I think this happens more often than people realize. We are so eager to feel better that we sometimes change too many variables at once, and then the body gives us a response, but we don't know how to interpret it or what to continue doing. The same thing can happen with testing. More testing sounds thorough, but more testing is not automatically better testing. A test is most useful when it is answering a clear clinical question. If I'm asking, could iron depletion be contributing to hair loss, fatigue, reduced exercise tolerance, shortness of breath? That's a question. But if I'm ordering 40 markers because I'm hoping one of them finally tells me why someone feels bad, that's different. The test should serve the investigation. The investigation should not be built around whatever test happens to be popular right now. And this is why I keep coming back to this one idea. Before you spend another dollar trying to feel better, ask, what are we trying to understand? What evidence do we have that this deserve attention? And how will we know whether what we do next actually helped? If those questions are not clear, you don't have an answer for this question, you have no clue, I need you to pause. Because the next thing you do should give you information, not just hope. And this is actually the reason I created my root cause analysis consultation. Yesterday during the masterclass, connected dots masterclass, I could teach people how I think. I could explain why timeline matters, why treatment response matters, why more testing does not automatically mean better answers, but I cannot responsibly tell someone what their individual pattern means without knowing their story. That takes time. The root cause analysis is a two-visit doctor-led evaluation with me. We start with a 60-minute consultation where I review your whole life, so to speak, your health history, your timeline, previous testing, medications, supplements, treatment responses, what changed, what helped, what didn't, and what still does not make sense. And then we come back for another 30 minutes to discuss the results and strategy. The investment at the time of recording is $497, and the goal is not to automatically order everything. The goal is to determine what deserves investigation and why. This is a very different kind of purchase than simply trying one more thing. And maybe you're listening to me thinking Dr. Gentit, I've already spent so much money And I don't want another appointment. Listen, I understand. I hear you. I completely understand where you're coming from. But I want you to separate two things though. Spending money on another random intervention is not the same thing as investing in figuring out what deserves intervention, okay? Those are not the same decision. One adds something else to the pile, the other is meant to help you decide what should even be in the pile in the first place. And if you missed the Connect the Dots masterclass, or you attended and thought I need someone to apply this thinking to me," that is exactly what the root cause analysis is for. You do not need to know which test you need before you do, you come to me. That is my job, okay? You do not need to know all the diagnoses. That's also my job. You do not need to organize your entire case. All I need you to do is just bring what you know, what you've tried, your previous labs, if you have them, upload them into your portal. Bring the things that still do not make sense, and we'll start from there. That's so simple. And whether you work with me or not, I want you to take one thing from this episode. Before you spend another dollar trying to feel better, here we go, repeating myself, what exactly are we trying to understand? Because the next thing you do with your health, your money, your energy, all of the things that you do to yourself, should have a clear reason behind it. If you want to learn more about the, the root cause analysis consultation, the booking link is in the show notes below. I really hope that you understand how powerful and valuable it is when you actually know what's behind those symptoms, when you have someone helping you investigate, okay? We're not just throwing things, like trying out different things. And sometimes you think purchasing a supplement for $30 is cheaper. It adds up by the end of the day or by the end of the week, by the end of the time, you find yourself spending thousands of dollars on supplements. Was it worth it? Did you actually know what exactly you are treating? Did you have the investigation done? And for some people, the answer is no. So I want you to book the root cause analysis. Let's do the investigation together. Let's connect the dots together. And then you can actually have a clearer picture of what you need to do, what your next step should be, okay? So the link is in the show notes below That is fantastic. You completed another episode. So thank you for spending this time with me. If today's conversation gave you a new perspective, I hope you carry it with you into the rest of your week. If someone you love needs to hear this today, share this episode with them. Until next time, take good care of yourself. I'll meet you back here for our next conversation.
